April Fools Day Comments

Happy April Fool's Day!

Welcome to another day in my life. Today is Thursday and it is April Fool's Day. I can not believe it is already April. Time just seems to fly by quicker and quicker the older I get.

It is a beautiful day outside but I am feeling under the weather so I will be spending most of the day in bed. I am afraid I have caught a stomach bug so I am afraid of leaving the house except to take the dogs on a short walk. Plus I do not want to take the chance of giving this bug to anyone else since I hate it when I see someone who knows they are sick out in public without needing to be.

In the past couple of days, my next door neighbor was burglarized and there was another person robbed in front of my house during the night. So I have definitely been more aware of people around the house and when walking the dogs. Luckily, most thieves are scared of dogs and while mine are very loving; they can also be menacing when they want to be. So they will hopefully scare away any potential robbers.

I have heard from several friends living in the northeast who are having to deal with the horrible flooding going on up there. My heart goes out to them. I had a place flood once and it is one of the most disheartening things to have all your material possessions destroyed. Of course, you have to be thankful if noone you care about gets hurt during the event. But if you do not have flood insurance, it can be quite a blow to your life just thinking about how you are going to survive and rebuild.

I will be on a conference call later today with Secretary of Health, Kathleen Sebelius about health care reform. I am hoping there will also be discussion of the direct impact to people with HIV and AIDS. I also hope there will be at least some mention of the almost 800 American men and women currently on ADAP (AIDS Drug Assistance Program) waiting lists in ten different states in our country.

I was hoping to go to Fusion this evening for movie night. But unless I am feeling much better I will probably pass even though it would be great to see Mario and my other friends. Like I said earlier, I would never want to be the cause of making someone else sick. I am hoping this is just food poisoning instead of a viral thing. But better safe than sorry.

I have been spending a lot of time working on the thousands and thousands of pics of Dab the AIDS Bear at different events around the world this year. I process them in Picasa and then post the pics to Flickr and also makes slide shows with them on Slide.com.

Well that is about all the news for me today. How about you? What is going on in your life? Drop me a line and let me know.

Until we meet again; here's wishing you health, hope, happiness and just enough.

big bear hug,

Daddy Dab
