Another Busy Day

Thanks for stopping by to check out another day in my life. I hope you are having a great week so far.

I had to be up and rolling early this morning after a sleepless night. I was having problems with my back and legs again. But I had meetings and appointments scheduled for today so there was no rest for the wicked.

First, I went to our monthly World AIDS Week committee meeting after tending to emails. It is always great seeing everyone since most of us have been on the committee for at least four years. Everything is coming together great for the different activities scheduled throughout the week. The only bad part is we are so busy taking care of business that we do not have time to just visit and catch up with each other. We all have such tight schedules and are running for one to the other.

And in case I forgot to mention it in an earlier blog, our Teddy Bear Touchdown is now an official World AIDS Week event here in Jacksonville. I know everyone involved who have worked so hard for the past four years are psyched at the news. Because of everyone's hard work, we are making a difference in the lives of children with HIV and AIDS and I thank all of you from the bottom of my heart.

Then it was time to run back home and let the dogs outside before driving to Baymeadows. I had an appointment with the Survey Center. We are working together on getting surveys for people with HIV and AIDS. Participants after qualifying go in to do a survey and receive monetary compensation. So we are not only helping people in our community make extra money but helping companies who market to our community. Unfortunately, Jen was out of the office so I did not get to meet her in person after months of online communication. But the rest of the staff were very nice and hospitable. They will be collecting teddy bears and donations for our Teddy Bear Touchdown this year.

After leaving the Avenues, it was time to stop by Mailbox Etc in Riverside and ship off a Dab the AIDS Bear to a donor in North Carolina. Thanks Donald! I accidently messed up his order and forgot to ship his pin. But getting that out to you by Wednesday. Thanks again for your help!

The it was off to Publix before getting Gary from work. I needed to grab some bananas for my protein shakes, some yogurt (favorites are cherry, strawberry and blackberry) and salad mix. We are still having to figure out what Gary can and can not have since finding out he is probably diabetic. He is trying to be proactive but we really will not know anything until he gets his glucose tolerance test done in a couple of weeks. Guess we will have to take it from there.

It looks like it is going to be storming this evening so it is going to be a quiet one at home. I have another busy day tomorrow so I am hoping to get some sleep this evening.

Wishing you health, hope and happiness.

Big bear hug,

Daddy Dab
