Welcome to another day in my life. Today is Wednesday and we have almost made it through the middle of another work week. Dab the AIDS Bear and I are still resting at home recovering from exhaustion and a bug.
I was very saddened to hear about a young gay man who was beaten to death. What was even more distressing were some of the negative comments made by people after the story were posted:
"He deserved it for being gay."
"He's going to hell for being gay."
and many more hateful comments with language I will not post here since some children read my blog.
So I am asking all of you to watch the video below:
Now I would hope anyone reading this blog accepts everyone. I know I try to never judge people because I have not had to walk a mile in their shoes.
I shared this video to help stop hate and to show what people are doing to our precious children by killing them because of their lifestyles. Life is to short and life is not fear, think about next time you decide you wanna hate someone you don't know, because the next victim could be your child, what are you gonna do then?
And if you are willing to be disrespectful to people of hate and use hurtful names because of how they lived their lives then maybe you should think and realize what if it was your son or daughter that was murdered because of their sexuality.
People need to learn they may be hating someone they love or someone loves them. So stop judging people and please help stop the hate by spreading the word on this wonderful video that was created.
I know how lucky I am to have a family and wonderful friends who accept me for who I am regardless of my sexual orientation or my HIV status.
So please remember we all have a right to be here and to be treated with dignity and compassion.
Until we meet again; here's wishing you health, hope, happiness and just enough.
