Hurricanes, Typhoons and Earthquakes
Welcome to another day in my life. Today is Wednesday and we have almost made it through the middle of another work week. I hope you are having a safe and great week so far. It has been another busy week for Dab the AIDS Bear and me.
This past weekend, the weather around the world went crazy. There were tropical storms, hurricanes, typhoons and earthquakes. Just in my town of Fort Lauderdale we had strong winds and torrential rain but that was nothing compared to other places. But there was some problems from the weather here in Isaac’s wake, more than 9,000 left without power in Miami-Dade; 6,250 in Broward.
There was a Tsunami Warning in effect for Central America after 7.4 deep in Pacific. Luckily the Tsunami never happened but that was just one of the earthquakes.
Tropical storm Isaac killed people in Haiti and caused massive flooding. Then headed toward the Gulf of Mexico and caused the Republican National Convention to be postponed. Then the Florida Panhandle was anticipating up to 18 inches of rain from Tropical Storm Isaac which became a hurricane class one before hitting.
Over 700 hundred earthquakes and aftershocks rocked the area east of San Diego near the Mexico border. The worst earthquake was a 5.5 magnitude. They are expecting aftershocks to continue through this week that will continue to shake southern California.
There was also a massive Typhoon Bolaven that slammed Okinawa, Japan and headed for the Koreas which included up causing major flooding, wind damage and loss of life.
So after awhile, I just sat here wondering what in the heck is happening that we are having so many natural disasters happening at the same time. I know this is the hurricane season but that does not explain earthquakes happening all over the southern California and Central America fault lines.
So hopefully the rest of this week will be less eventful at least one the natural disaster arena.
Hope you have a beary safe and great hump day!
Until we meet again; here's wishing you health, hope, happiness and just enough.
big bear hug,
