I'd like to welcome you to another year of my blog. It should prove to be an exciting and interesting year... with more changes in health care AND a presidential election to boot. But first of all...
You folks are great! I'd like to thank you all again for all the emails, calls, letters and cards during my recent hospital stay and home recuperation!
A loving caring support group along with having a positive attitude in life is what I credit with having kept me alive all these years while dealing with HIV and AIDS.
I'm starting off the new year with a new video clip daily blog. In 2007 all of my daily blogs were typed. Now to some people this may not seem like a big deal... but the last few years with a heart attack and two strokes; not to mention HIV and AIDS; has taken a big toll on my personal appearance.
As someone that spent their teens and young adulthood in modeling, entertainment etc; personal appearance and image are the standards that you are judge on by others. In the gay culture, youth and looks are rewarded sometimes to outrageous extremes... all because of genetic luck and a little work and grooming. But after you've been judged by those standards for so many years, it's very hard to just stop the tape in my head telling me that I know longer have to judge myself according to those standards. But we still all like to feel that we looked good. Right now I'm having a big problem with that. So it might take me a short while to warm back up to being in front of a camera instead of behind one. Bear with me! LOL
Hope that all of you had a fantastic holiday season and a safe and Happy New Year! Thank all of you for making my 2007 so special... and looking forward to another year together.
Wishing you health, hope and happiness.
Big bear hug,
