Happy World AIDS Day!
Welcome to another blog entry about my life. It is Monday and World AIDS Day today. I hope you are having a safe and great World AIDS Day.
It was very emotional one for me. I saw my baby's quilt piece hanging at City Hall for the opening Ceremony of the AIDS Quilt. Took a couple of pictures of it to have along with a few others.
Then I came home around 2pm to take care of some housekeeping business and other things I have coming up in the new year. So stay tuned as you get to ride a roller coaster with me.
Then it was time for the Memorial Service this evening. St. Luke's Church was packed to almost standing only. There were great presentations from several different faith based religions and also 3 great performance groups including the First Coast Chorus.
Before the service, we did a very long Candlelight Memorial Walk for about a good mile and a half. I know Paul and I were both worn out by the end and our candles were burned out. Walter was also walking with us.
The reception afterward was great with a selection of tasty treats for everyone. I got to spend a little time with Frieda Saraga (like my second mom), Torrencia, Walter, Mark and a few others. All too soon, I was tired and needed to come home. It will be another long day tomorrow with things to do.
Hope you are doing great. Drop me a line and let me know how things are going.
Until we meet again; here's wishing you health, hope and happiness.
