Welcome to another day in my life. Today is Saturday and it is Christmas Day. So I hope you are having a safe and beary Merry Christmas. This is the favorite day of the year for Dab the AIDS Bear and me.
Ever since I was a little kid, I have always loved Christmas. It brings back memories of having all of our relatives over for a huge meal, the house smelling of cinnamon and baking good, the house being all decorated inside and out but most of time spending the day with my wonderful family.
I must admit that now Christmas also makes me melancholy. My Mom passed away in 2003. My partner, Brad, and my god-daughter, Candace, in 1989. So while I still love the holiday, it is also bittersweet for me. Of course, I will be calling my Dad and friends to wish them a Merry Christmas but somehow it is not the same.
But I will be enjoying the day with George, Harley, Sugar and Chipper and we will have a great time. George is making a ham with all the fixings. But somehow Christmas is not quite the same as it was when you were a kid. I remember being all excited on Christmas eve and having a hard time falling asleep anticipating the next morning.
The following is a slide show of pictures that all of you have sent in with your Dab the AIDS Bear during the holidays:
Hope you enjoyed the slide show and many thanks to all of you who sent in your pics. It is because of you that the hope and joy of Dab the AIDS Bear is spread around the world.
Now off to enjoy my day. Hope you have a safe and great day also. Just remember the best part of the day is not what we receive but what we give.
Until we meet again; here's wishing you health, hope, happiness and just enough.
