Welcome to another day in my life. Today is Thursday and New Year's Eve. I hope you are having a safe and great weekend.
2009 has been both a great and not so great year for Dab the AIDS Bear and I.
On the great side, we were able to help get Ryan White funding renewed for four more years to help our brothers and sisters living with HIV and AIDS. We also met with several of our elected officials in DC and country wide. We were featured in 2 POZ magazine articles, HIV+ magazine, AARP magazine, 2 different POZIAM Radio, Who's Positive Radio and other media throughout the year. We also participated in over ten AIDS Walks around the world and five different HIV/AIDS conferences. Dab the AIDS Bear and I also met tens of thousands of people as we took pictures at events around the world where we were speaking.
But the thing I am happiest about is helping to provide hope and joy to children with HIV and AIDS around the world with our Teddy Bear Touchdowns.
2009 also had its downside. A relationship I was in for four years ended. Nine of our close friends with HIV lost their battle with AIDS and I have having significant health problems again. But I am still alive and hopefully will not be going anywhere any time soon.
