Red Tie Affair Fundraiser
Welcome to another day in my life. Today is Friday and it's been a very busy week. Sorry I have not had the time to write a blog in a few days but I have been busy with multiple events each day since I am on the World AIDS Week committee.
Last night, William threw a Red Tie Affair fund raiser for our Teddy Bear Touchdowns at the Metro in Jacksonville. I was so shocked when I walked in and saw everything he had done in less than a month. I was speechless. See William did not know me. He did not have to do anything to help us. But this wonderful man worked his rear end off for over a month and pulled this fund raiser together for which I will be forever thankful. It is because of people like William across the country that these events for children with HIV and AIDS happen. Without their help and passion, the parties would be a sad shadow of what they are.
By the time I got home last evening, I was exhausted. One more event tomorrow, our local Teddy Bear Touchdown and then I can rest for a couple of days hopefully. I am needing some very badly. I overdid it this year and just do not have anything left to give right now.
I also found out last night that my friend Diane made it through her open heart surgery. The surgeon ended up doing a double bypass (her third one) and fixes some of the stints in her heart. Diane will be in ICU for a few days and then in a regular hospital room for a few before heading to her mother's house to recover. I am just so relieved she is okay. Diane and I have been friends for over 25 years and I was in a panic.
I have to get ready for our event today but wanted to get an update on here. I hope you are having a safe and great week. I know some places in the country, like Houston, currently have snow. Guess that is why I live in Florida. While I might occasionally hate the heat and humidity at least I never have to dig my way out.
Until we meet again; here's wishing you health, hope and happiness.
big bear hug,
