A Day Too Short

Thanks for joining me for another day in my life. Today is Monday and I hope your week is off to a great start.

I am currently in South Florida and feeling the fatigue brought on by a year full of traveling around the world. It has been great meeting so many fans of Dab the AIDS Bear, touching the lives of children and adults with HIV and AIDS, attending fundraisers and AIDS Walks/Rides, hearing stories about their lives.

But like all good things, this year is quickly coming to an end. There are times I wonder when the end of me will come. Will it be with the latest health challenge. Will it be from something totally unrelated. I guess it is a good thing we can not see the future. Some people believe that everything is already written in the cards. Some believe we can change the cards they are dealt.

I guess what really matters is at the end of each day, I usually like who I see in the mirror. Now the wrinkles, the gray hair and a few other defects I could live without. But for the most part, I am comfortable with who I am and like what I am doing with my life.

I get a lot of calls and emails from others who are searching. Whether they are searching for a special someone in their lives, the meaning of life or a way for them to make a difference while they are here. I will tell you as I have told them. Find your passion. Find what matters to you in the world and makes you feel good.

So while none of us know how long we have in this life, you know you have this minute. This minute to decide what is next. Who and what are important to you.

I am sure you have probably heard of a "bucket List". But if you have not, a bucket list is a list of things that people (sometimes after they find out they are ill or terminal, sometimes after a life changing incident) make to hopefully complete before their passing. Luckily, I have crossed most of the items off my list. But there are still a couple of things left.

I realize I am being all cerebral today. Guess that is just where I am at today. What about you? Drop me a line and let me know.

Until we meet again; here's wishing you health, hope and happiness.

big bear hug,

Daddy Dab
