Hey everyone! I hope that you're having a great week so far. It's been beautiful weather in Florida especially considering that it's winter and a lot of the country is below freezing due to a severe cold front.
Today was Gary's 42nd birthday. (He's next to Daddy Dab in today's pic.) So I went and met him at his job where the employees were throwing him a birthday party. I've met most of them before and they are a very friendly group. They had ordered Chinese food and had a great birthday cake for him. He ended up getting off from work early and leaving with me.
Later in the day, I took him out to dinner for his birthday and gave him an one of a kind Michigan State jacket and a couple of other small gifts. After dinner, we stopped by Cold Stone Creamery to get his ice cream birthday cake. Then had a piece of it later.
I had forgotten to mention the last HIV community luncheon in my last blog entry. As always, we had the luncheon at Christ Church of Peace on the last Friday of the month. This month, I gave Valentine's teddy bears to all in attendance. Valentine's Day can be a very lonely holiday for some people with HIV and AIDS... especially for those that are single and wishing they were with someone. While I can't find a partner for all those wanting one, I hope the teddy bears they received make them feel special and that someone cared enough to give them something.
I've recently received several new requests to speak about HIV and AIDS with the local community, Divided We Fail, and a national organization... so my next few months are going to be very busy with traveling and speaking.
I just had to make sure I do my workouts since I'm back in the swing of working out. And as my best friend tells me... make sure I get lots of rest. Luckily most hotels now have some sort of gym to accomplish that without having to drive around and find a location.
The Super Bowl will finally be here this Sunday. Looking forward to the big game even though my favorites teams aren't in it. It should be an exciting game. It'll be interesting to see how Brady finishes the season.
I hope that all of you have a safe and great weekend! Wishing all of you health, hope and happiness.
big bear hug,
