Blue Cross Part 2
Welcome to another day in my life. Today is Wednesday and I hope you are having a safe and great week so far.
We are having another chilly spell in south Florida with lows in the 40s at night. Now I realize I should not be complaining since most of the country is much colder and many parts are buried waist deep in snow. In fact, I have received more messages from several friends in the northeast who can not even get out of their home due to the high amounts of snowfall. I am claustrophobic bad enough without being trapped somewhere. So I am more than willing to deal with some chilly nights compared to what others are dealing with right now.
According to the weather forecast, we are suppose to warm back to our normal temperatures by the weekend. I am sure when summer gets here I will be begging for the cooler temperatures we are now having. But you can not have it perfect all the time I guess.
Meeting with Earl of Broward House this afternoon to see if I would like to use them as my AIDS service organization. Since I am going to be down here for awhile then it would be prudent to find a local agency. There is also another agency called Care Resources. So I will also need to meet with them before I come to a final decision. Luckily there is the choice of more than one agency in the area which is more than a lot of people with HIV and AIDS have in other parts of the country.
Now yesterday I was speaking at Blue Cross raising their premiums. And I would like to thank all of you who went to the link. Yes, I actually do hear when people do as I ask. So thank you. And I would like to do some follow up information.
This week nearly 200,000 readers have signed a petition demanding a public explanation from Blue Cross of their plan to jack up rates by as much as 39% for some customers.
The pressure is working. Blue Cross has just announced they will delay the increase by two months — a big signal that the outcry is making them uncomfortable.
But a short delay is not enough — and the company is still providing no explanation for this ridiculous rate hike. They are hoping this small concession will appease the public, so we have got to show them that they are wrong.
Will you sign the petition today? Clicking here will add your name and show Big Insurance that these abuses have to stop:
The blog yesterday has the full information where I initially told you about this for the full story. Check it out, and forward this to your friends — the bigger the public response, the stronger the message to Big Insurance that customers will not stand for abusive practices like this.
Thanks for all you do.
Until we meet again; here's wishing you health, hope and happiness.
big bear hug,
