Surgery Interrupted

Welcome to another day in my life. Today is Monday and I hope you week is off to a safe and great start. The weather outside is matching my mood today. It is cloudy and rainy but at least it is not cold outside.

I slept in until almost noon today. The antibiotics the doctors have me on are really wiping me out and making me tired all the time. Then it was time to take the dogs out for a walk. Luckily, there was a break in the rain since both of my female dogs hate to go outside when it is raining. Sometimes I think they believe they are real little girls instead of dogs and think they will melt if they get wet.

After making something to eat so I could take my medications, I got a shower to get ready to go to NOVA surgery. You have to park in the garage and then walk what felt like a hike to get to the NOVA surgery unit. After getting signed in and waiting thirty minutes, I was finally taken back to the room. I needed to go to the bathroom but unfortunately they do not have bathrooms on that floor so I just held it. Finally the surgeon came in and we talked. Turned out I am having to wait until Thursday morning to get the surgery done. He wants me to continue on my antibiotics until then.

After getting home, I was ready for a nap. But of course the dogs needed to go out for another walk. Once again, I was lucky it was not raining when I got home. I was also hungry since I had not eaten in a few hours. So ended up having a cheese steak sub from Subways.

I called Diane and let her know the surgery is not going to be until Thursday. We also discussed several things and got caught up on what is going on in her life. She and her mother are both having optometrists appointments and getting new glasses which is something I need to do in the next few weeks. I have not been to the optometrist in almost two and a half years now so I need to get a stronger prescription. One of the hard parts of getting older is the eye sight starts to go.

The rest of the night is going to be low key. I will probably watch some more of the Olympics from Vancouver. They will be showing the finals of the ice dancing tonight along with a few other competitions. It will be interesting to see who wins. So far, the good ole US of A is leading in the medal competition. But Germany is only a few medals behind us.

I hope your weekend was a great one and your week is off to a good and safe start.

Until we meet again; here's wishing you health, hope and happiness.

big bear hug,
