Dear HIV

Welcome to another day in my life. Today is Sunday and I hope you are having a safe and great weekend so far. It has been another busy weekend for Dab the AIDS Bear and me.

I recently did something I had done once before many years ago. I wrote a letter to the HIV in my body. We used to do this exercise along with visualization before we had life saving HIV medications. It was something started by my friend Louise Hays many years ago. So here is my recent letter to HIV:

Dear HIV -

Once per day I am reminded of your presence. A life saving piece of modern day medicine. Generally, I feel good, happy and independent. I will nott attribute this to you, though. I do not feel you deserve it - you have killed too many people to give credit and potentially you will take my life, too. I will say, that I do not live day to day with excuses - instead, I push hard, stronger and fiercely. Is this because of you? Yes - and ONLY because I do not want you to inhibit me from living to my full potential. So, with that - a big ole "f*ck you"! I often read, hear and watch what you are - instead, here is what you are NOT:

You are NOT:

Going to stop me.
As smart as you think.
Going to stop me from loving.
Going to consume my life.
All that I am.
Going further than me.
Taking my dignity

And...

And...

Going to be around forever....

With Respect,

Dab

Hope you have a great Sunday!

Until we meet again; here's wishing you health, hope, happiness and just enough.

big bear hug,

Daddy Dab
