Huscub is Back Home
Welcome to another day in my life. Today is Saturday and tomorrow is Super Bowl Sunday! So many of you will be glued to the television this evening either watching the football game or waiting on the commercials and Madonna's show at half time.
I am sorry I have not written a blog in several days so I apologize. I had taken my husband Todd to get a CT Scan on Monday. We were having lunch afterwards when his doctor called me and told me to rush him back to the hospital and have him admitted through the Emergency Room. Turns out the CT Scan showed an embolism. He had blood clots in his neck and lungs.
After spending several hours in the emergency room, he was admitted to ICU on the second floor of Imperial Point Hospital. Needless to say I was staying strong for him on the outside but was a complete panic on the inside worrying that I might lose the love of my life.
I have to say that Nicole, Tony and all the nurses at Imperial were absolutely fantastic and treated both of us so well. After three days in ICU, Todd was transferred to PCU (Progressive Care Unit) on the fourth floor.
Luckily, Todd only had a roommate for one night in PCU. Most of the time we were there by ourselves. The nurses did not even care that we slept together in the same bed at night. They just warned us not to get caught which I thought was very sweet. I had a couple of them tell me it was so great to see two people so in love with each other.
Todd was on a Heparin IV drip for five days to help break up the blood clots. Then the last day he was on shots and Cumadin which he will continue at home. Everyone was glad but sad at the same time to see us check out and wished us well. So Todd had to be on bed rest and a couch potato for the next few weeks while the blood clots continue to disperse. The doctor had those conditions in order for him to come home.
Going to keep the blog short today because I have a ton to do around the house besides taking care of Todd.
Hope you have a great Saturday!
Until we meet again; here's wishing you health, hope, happiness and just enough.
big bear hug,
