Under the Weather
Thanks for joining me for another day in my life. I am out of town again and feeling under the weather. I was running a 101 degree fever last evening so have not been doing much since arriving. Trying to save my energy up for the mixer later.
It is a beautiful hotel and I will fill in more on the details later. Right now, that bed has my name on it so I can make the event later today.
I hope you are having a great week so far. It is cold here but I expected it to be so trying to stay toasty and warm. It also helps not to get out in the open air much.
From your emails, I know some of you are having a rough start to the year because you fall into the medicare "donut hole" where you have to pay up to $4800 for your meds before you can get help! One of the many things which need to be changed about our domestic HIV/AIDS policy before more needless American deaths happen.
Also remember organizations like Jewish Community Family Services and Catholic Charities for additional help when things get rough. Also make sure you know what funding under the Ryan White Care Act you qualify for, just in case.
I also have a deductible every year through my program but it is much more reasonable so I do not complain. I have seen with others just how bad it can get. So remember your friends with HIV and AIDS this winter and spring as they have the huge deductibles. Maybe take a friend out to dinner just cause!
Remember to keep your feet on the ground as you are reaching for the stars!
Big bear hug,
