Emergency ADAP Summit

Welcome to another day in my life. Today is Monday and I hope you had a safe and great weekend. It was another busy one for Dab the AIDS Bear and me.

In two week, we will be hosting the Emergency ADAP Summit here in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Now if you have been reading my blog for any length of time, you know about the ADAP problems in our country. So here is some more details for you.

The ADAP Advocacy Association (aaa+) -- together with its Lead Sponsor the AIDS Healthcare Foundation -- encourage all interested ADAP stakeholders to attend its 2011 Emergency ADAP Summit on January 29 - 30th in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. With ADAP waiting lists standing at the shameful record of 5,154 people living with HIV/AIDS in 10 states nationwide, it is critically important that ADAP stakeholders gain a better insight into what is fueling the crisis with updates from leading industry experts, as well as an opportunity to participate in formulating a grassroots strategy to better educate policymakers at the federal, state and local levels.

The time to act and unite is NOW!

The purpose is to identify key action steps that can be taken in 2011 to secure additional federal appropriations, programmatic reforms, available private resources and other remedies to move beyond ADAP wait lists and improve access to care for all people living with HIV/AIDS.
