I hope that you're having a great weekend. It has been a busy one for me. As I've told you, I recently started working out again to increase my muscle mass after being sick. I'm still doing that 5 days a week but I am starting off slowly. I do one set per exercise and 4 exercises per muscle group... ie. pecs, biceps, triceps, etc.
After not working out for over six months after the stroke and the weight loss, I am basically starting over from scratch. The great thing about the human body, even a HIV+ one, is that our muscles have "memory". As soon as we start working out again and feeding our bodies enough to grow muscle tissue, our body will depending on health and age try to get back to it's "best shape". Luckily I started working out at 16 and have been working out for most of my life.
On Saturday, I attended the Mitt Romney political rally in Jacksonville with Divided We Fail volunteers. We are a non-partisan group that advocates affordable health care for all Americans. Some pics from the rally around following. There was standing room only for the rally at UNF even though it was raining and nasty outside. There are also some pics from when Rudy Guliani was in town last week at the Veteran's Memorial Wall in downtown Jacksonville.
It was great meeting a couple of new volunteers that I hadn't met before the event. It's always interesting to hear why people got involved with the cause. We come from all different backgrounds and reasons. I also sent out an email to my board of directors about the events. Luckily one was able to attend.
I also received an email today from a great friend that is currently teaching in NYC. He is getting together a group up there to do the Teddy Bear Touchdown for children with HIV and AIDS. That's the best gift anyone could ever give me... to help spread the joy of the Teddy Bear Touchdown to children with HIV and AIDS throughout the county. Thanks Christoph... you're the best bud! Good luck.
It's Sunday now and I'm laying low at home. It's very cloudy, cold and nasty outside so I'm resting up and working on this website. I'm also watching the AFC Championship Game between the San Diego Chargers and the New England Patriots. The New England Patriots just won 21 - 12 and will be advancing to the Super Bowl. They and their quarterback Brady had a 18 - 0 season. That's unheard of in the NFL.
Tomorrow is going to be a busy day with both Guliani and John McCain both being in town for rallies. So Lindsey and I will be hitting the road in our DWF red t-shirts. Be sure to stop by and say hi if we end up in your city. I also have to make time for my workout. Luckily this next week is a light week unless more candidates schedule rallies leading up to our primary here in Florida.
Wishing all of you a healthy and happy weekend! Do something special for yourself!
Big bear hug,
