How's Your Year Going?
Welcome to another day in my life. Today is Saturday and we are already on the second day of 2010. I hope you are having a safe and great year so far!
Every year people make resolutions. Now the resolutions vary from losing weight, quitting smoking, getting a new job or many other things. Unfortunately most people never make it past January with their new year resolutions still in tact. I guess that is why I stopped making new year resolutions several years ago and prefer instead to work on bettering myself through out the year as I see issues come into my life.
Yesterday was a rest day with watching the Tournament of Rose Parade from Pasadena. I took a small trip down memory lane remembering when several friends and I went to the parade a couple of years back in the 90s. It seems hard to believe that is already more than a decade ago. It seems the older I get the quicker time seems to fly by. In a way that scares me because I am afraid I will look us one day and realize my life is over. But I most also admit I know I am extremely fortunate to still be alive and have had some amazing life experiences this far and hope to have more in whatever time I have left in life.
Today finds me having to get ready for another trip to Jacksonville. I hate these trips because it is a very long and exhausting drive. I am going up to start packing up the apartment and bring the kids down to South Florida for the winter. It is a big move for all of us and it does not help that it will be bitter cold in Jacksonville while I am there. (I hate the cold.)
Now when I talk about my kids, please remember my children are four legged doggies. I will never get to have children myself and I guess that is why I enjoy doing my Teddy Bear Touchdowns for children with HIV and AIDS so much. It will also be sad as it is the final steps of leaving a four year relationship. Luckily, my ex and I have been able to remain friends so far but ending a relationship is never easy on either person. I wish him the best and hope he finds what he is looking for in life including happiness.
I also have to see all of my doctors and get my prescriptions filled while I am in town. I have been having headaches almost every day. I have also been having some problems with my vision and having floaters. After I get back I have to start looking for new doctors in South Florida which is never fun. Hopefully, I will find some doctors as great as the ones I had in Jacksonville.
So it is going to be a very busy week coming up for me. Unfortunately I will not have time to visit with everyone I would like to see while I am there. But seven days go by very quickly when you have a ton to get done. Not to mention all the packing and other stuff I have to get done. I hate packing and moving almost as much as I hate the cold weather.
So how is your year going so far? And what plans are you making for the new year? Drop me a line and let me know.
Until we meet again; here's wishing you health, hope and happiness.
big bear hug,
