Art Walk

Welcome to another day in my life. Today is Sunday and I hope you are having a safe and great New Year weekend. Our year is already off to a busy start.

After getting up, walking the dogs and taking care of the morning tasks; I decided to go and check out the Arts Festival in downtown Fort Lauderdale on Los Olas Blvd. The first problem was finding parking since there were so many blocks taken up by the festival.

Luckily, it was a beautiful slightly overcast day for the event. It was not too hot or too cold since we are currently having what I consider to be perfect weather with highs in the 70s during the days and lows in the 50s at night.

I ended up not buying any of the beautiful objects that were there. But saw many things I liked. There was also a ton of places to get tempting tasty morsels from various ethnic backgrounds which is one of the wonderful things about living in south Florida. We are definitely a melting pot of many different cultures.

Then it was time to head back to the house and spend time with my four legged children. After their walk, we spent some time relaxing on the couch and enjoying our time together before another busy week starts up. It was also time for their monthly Comfortis flea pill. The fleas are so bad in south Florida, Comfortis is the only thing I have found to control the fleas.

I have been seeing some very disturbing videos posted about TSA agents at airports across our country. Then I heard a report that some of the TSA employees have criminal backgrounds including sexual assault. Yet these agents are allowed to do the new pat downs on citizens wanting to fly. Now I will say that I have not yet had this experience personally during my travels. But I have had my bags searched on several occasions. The one thing which has upset me is the way they carelessly toss belongings out of the bag and then expect me to repack it. My thought is if you are being so careless unpacking my bags then they should have to repack the bags the way they were to start.

To see these disturbing videos, you can go to YouTube and type in TSA. There are just so many that it would be hard to choose which couple to post. I saw video of people having their credit cards photographed, improper pat downs and rudeness that surprised me. I am amazed you do not hear more people complaining or more news coverage on the issue.

Going to close by wishing all of you a great day. Remember life is not a dress rehearsal. Go out and do something to make yourself happy today. Or call an old friend you have not spoken with in awhile.

Until we meet again; here's wishing you health, hope, happiness and just enough.

big bear hug,

Daddy Dab
