Emergency Demonstration in DC

Welcome to another day in my life. Today is Wednesday and another beautiful day in south Florida where at least we are warmer than the rest of the country.

But everything is not beautiful with what is going on so I am going to jump right into the topic for today instead of talking about my personal problems, health problems and daily activities.

Last night, Obama floated the idea of freezing all funding for all non-defense discretionary spending for THREE YEARS. That means no new money or AIDS treatment. No new money for housing. No new money for HIV prevention. No new money for any of the programs we care about. For the rest of his term.

Who does this hurt? Not big business. Not Wall Street, that caused this mess to begin with. Not the military (where most of our money goes!). It hurts poor people, and people with AIDS.

- Please stay tuned on how you can be involved from your local community -

Tell Obama - your budget freeze puts people with AIDS out in the cold.

This is a nightmare scenario. We are in the middle of an economic crisis, and people are losing their jobs, their homes, their healthcare. This budget freeze would devastate efforts to address HIV in our communities, and around the world. Waiting lists are growing every day for housing, and AIDS treatment and care. Syringe exchanges can finally get federal funding, but now there's no new money to fund them. We have to push back!
