Happy Birthday Rene
Welcome on my journey of hope. It is Saturday and I hope you are having a safe and great weekend so far.
I am still recovering from a recent reinjury to my lower back muscles. I have been sleeping a lot more since I hurt my back. Not sure if it is the pain causing me to want to sleep more or my body was finally worn out to where I was going to have to rest more regardless.
So I am not able to do a whole lot right now. I rested for most of the day so I would have the energy to go to a friend's birthday parent this evening. I did spend some time in short spurts trying to catch up on email and messages. With the condition of my back, I just can not sit for more than a few minutes at a time without a lot of pain.
I spoke with my Dad for a couple of hours. It had been a week or two since the last time I had caught up with him. Dad is staying busy as always and lucky is is great health for a man in his late 70s. Mom's birthday is coming up next month and I know since her passing that time is hard for him.
I met Rene through my partner Gary. Rene works with Gary at Sunn Battery in the office. She and her other half have been over to the house on many occasions. So of course we had to make it to her birthday party.
They had a great DJ and had decorated the entire back yard. There was a ton of food featuring shrimp/scallop skewers, hamburgers, hot dogs, boiled crabs and all the extras. After a couple of hours my back was starting to kill me, so we ended up leaving around 10pm and headed for home. I could tell Gary was getting tired anyway. He is usually in bed by 9:30pm anyway so it was past his bed time and he was driving.
I hope you are having a safe and great weekend so far. Remember to make a couple of special memories for yourself this weekend.
Wishing you health, hope and happiness.
Big bear hug,
