March on Washington 2012
Welcome to another day in my life. Today is Friday and we have almost made it through another work week. I hope you have been having a safe and great week so far. It has been another busy week for Dab the AIDS Bear and me.
In a couple of weeks, up to 200,000 people will be arriving in Washington, DC for the International AIDS Conference. On July 22nd, they are expecting up to 50,000 individuals to participate in the Keep the Promise March.
We have roughly eighteen Ambassadors of Hope who are going to be in attendance at the events in Washington, DC. All Ambassadors of Hope are invited to join us on July 22 between 10am and 14 hours ... 9th St, between Madison and Jefferson ... for a group photo of all the Ambassadors (almost in the middle of the Obelisk and the Congress on the edge of the "AIDS Quilt Memory").
They will also be taking pictures with their Dab the AIDS Bear during all of the events during the International AIDS Conference. So if you see someone with one of our Dab the AIDS Bears, say hello and get your picture taken in support of people living with HIV and AIDS.
The International AIDS Conference is the premier gathering for those working in the field of HIV, as well as policy makers, persons living with HIV and other individuals committed to ending the pandemic. It is a chance to assess where we are, evaluate recent scientific developments and lessons learnt, and collectively chart a course forward.
The AIDS 2012 programme will present new scientific knowledge and offer many opportunities for structured dialogue on the major issues facing the global response to HIV. A variety of session types – from abstract-driven presentations to symposia, bridging and plenary sessions – will meet the needs of various participants. Other related activities, including the Global Village, satellite meetings, exhibitions and affiliated independent events, will contribute to an exceptional opportunity for professional development and networking.
So we will everyone attending the International AIDS Conference a safe and great trip. Stay tuned to a ton of pics and slide shows featuring Dab the AIDS Bear at the event.
Hope you have a safe and great Friday!
Until we meet again; here's wishing you health, hope, happiness and just enough.
big bear hug,
