The Destructive Power of Words
Welcome to another day in my life. Today is Thursday and I hope you are having a safe and great week so far. Today has been a rough one for me.
See I have been attacked online by someone who does not even know me or my work with HIV and AIDS. This person who is a so called socialite has decided since the project is a partial recipient of an event where her enemy will be present that she will attack the project and our 501(c)(3) sponsor Jacksonville Area Sexual Youth Minority Network, Inc. Not only did she attack us in her article but did so with so little regard and obviously very little research.
It just goes to show how destructive some thoughtless petty people can be. So much for the supposed class being morally responsible. Obviously, it was much more important to her to attack a HIV/AIDS organization than check the facts. I guess the moral here is for people to be careful what you say about others because words can be more harmful than weapons.
Last evening, I attended a presentation at Fusion by our local credit union. They were teaching people how to handle their financial planning among other issues. The presenters did a great job. It was great seeing everyone since I had not been by Fusion for a couple of weeks.
I have been receiving a ton of emails about the continued decay of HIV and AIDS services around the country. It continually amazes me how little our country does for people with HIV and AIDS especially considering the amount of funding we send to other parts of the world. I am not saying other countries do not need help. I know they do. I am just saying we should be taking care of our own citizens first.
I also had an appointment today with my HIV doctor. Luckily, everything came back as I expected with my lab results. So it was a short appointment, got my prescriptions and copy of my lab results and was on my way. But it is always great seeing Dr. Schumann. I am glad I found her after moving to south Florida.
I have a ton of errands to finish today so I am going to keep the entries short for today. Drop me a line and let me know what is going on in your world.
Until we meet again; here's wishing you health, hope, happiness and just enough.
big bear hug,
