And on the Seventh Day They Rested
Welcome to my Sunday. It is the day after Independence Day and I hope you had a safe and great one!
I ended up having a very nice but low key one with Gary. We were going to attend an outdoor concert but the humiditure was over 105 degrees and Gary does not handle the heat well. And at 105, neither do I so we decided to skip the concert. While it would have been great to see Pat Benatar, I did not want to sweat to death to do it.
So we ended up enjoying some quality alone time and then took a nap before dinner. Then we watched some television before bedtime. I know it may sound boring but with my schedule being so hectic, it was exactly what I hoped for in the day.
Today I did a chest and tricep workout after my morning chocolate protein shake. I am now up to three sets of each exercise with four exercises minimum per muscle group. I do each muscle group once a week using medium weight right now. I change up my schedule every six to eight weeks to keep my body guessing.
The rest of the day was spent catching up with friends on the phone. Diane's mother is going in for a heart catheter and she is 91. They are hoping the procedure will help with the blockage and give her back some of her energy. I know she recently had another friend from her bible group pass so I am sure that did not help things any.
I also caught up with my Dad and spoke to him for a couple of hours. He is doing great and it is also a joy to speak with him and see what he has been up to lately. I need to go for a visit soon since it has been too long since my last visit. Dad is lucky since he is in his late 70s and still very healthy all things considered. I hope he stays healthy as long as possible.
Well that is about it for me today. Just going to lounge around and enjoy some rare down time. What about you? What did you do this weekend to make a special memory? Drop me a line and let me know.
Wishing you health, hope and happiness.
