June 12, 2008
Welcome to another day in my life. First I would like to thank those of you who read my blog and have sent the wonderful emails while I have been sick with the stomach flu. I can not begin to tell you how much they have touched me.

I hope your day went well. I started my daily off early around 6am. I woke up this morning covered in sweat and my side of the bed was soaked. I am not sure if the sweating and fever were from the stomach virus or if I was having night sweats again. For those of you who are HIV negative, it is very common for people with HIV and especially long term survivors to have night sweats. Thus leading to my not being sure which caused my sweats while sleeping. I know I could not stop sneezing for about the first hour after waking up today. As usual I stumbled out to the leather couch in the living room to spend time with my pets after taking my morning medications and making a protein shake.

The weather today was pretty much the same as the last week. We started off the day in the high 60s with very few clouds in the sky. By lunch time, the storm front started coming in with the high winds, thunder and lightning. I tried to take a nap but because of the problems with my legs and back I was unable to fall asleep. I also tried to get the dogs to go outside during a break in the storm. Harley and Chipper did not give me any problems but Sugar had to act like a princess. She does not like getting her feet wet. Now this is the same dog that will chase something under my wood deck but she refuses to get her paws wet. Now as long as she does not have a mistake in the house I guess it is not a huge problem all things considered. But it is aggravating. I also noticed today in our neighbor's oak tree that the branches were covered in house flies. It was like something out of a Hitchcock horror movie.

Gary ended up getting home at his normal time around 6pm from work. He had to work the front desk today which handles the in store customer sales. Unfortunately due to the rain and the location of their building, Gary had to spend a couple of hours sweeping water out so the place wouldn't flood. For some reason, the floor drains started backing up so he had to get the water out of the building. Gary came home soaking wet and dirty from doing that and being inside and outside all day with the customers. Luckily it was only for today while someone was out and he can go back to his inside job tomorrow.

We were going to order some sandwiches from Larry's Subs but when we called they said their driver had called in sick so they were not doing deliveries this evening. I felt like asking him how he got to work? If he drove, why couldn't he deliver them? But no go, so we decided on making some pancakes. Not exactly a gourmet meal but I didn't want anything heavy on my stomach anyway since it is still bothering me. I go to the doctor again tomorrow to see what in the heck is going on with me. This has been lasting for almost two weeks now and I just want to make sure we know what it is and get it fixed.

I also called my pharmacy today to order my monthly refills and told them I would be by tomorrow to pick them up. Carlye and I also spoke about the new restrictions of prescription benefits for people with private insurance and using Ryan White. Because of the restrictions, I told her to only fill my HIV medications. I need to watch how much is going out on these medications since co-pays are now up to forty dollars each with my insurance. She had heard something very briefly about it but still had not received the details so I filled her in and told her I am also working to see if I can get it changed.

We ended up watching the premier of Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D List. It was hilarious and I was glad I stayed up to watch it. Kathy was also featured during the previous program which was a red carpet show before the Bravo A List Award Ceremony following the premier tonight. The red carpet show was hosted by Tim Gund from Project Runway. There was another gay male interviewer who made several obvious gay references which had Gary and I rolling on the couch. Kathy as usual was her hilarious irreverent self taking shots at numerous celebrities from Brittany Spears, Anderson Cooper among many others. The episode featured a lot of footage where Kathy was co-hosting New Years Eve 2008 on CNN with Anderson Cooper. It was some of the best footage of the show. It was also stated Kathy is now dating the co-founder of Apple who wasn't my type looks wise but he is a billionaire which attracts some people. I would have to be able to find the person at least attractive for it to become romantic.

Headed off to bed now for some serious zzz action. Hope you have a great day tomorrow. Wishing you health, hope and happiness.

Big bear hug,

Daddy Dab
