Chris Leonard
Dab the AIDS Bear's
Angel for June 2010

Welcome to another day in my life. Today is Wednesday and I hope you are having a safe and great one as we reach the middle of another work week. It is once again a very busy one for Dab the AIDS Bear and myself.

Today, it is with great honor we announce Chris Leonard as Dab the AIDS Bear's Angel for June 2010.

Chris is originally from Morgan City but has been in New Orleans for the past three years. He has one sister who is two years older. His parents divorced when Chris was 16 years old, which brought his mom and he very close. Chris is usually very laid back and easy going, but also a true Virgo. He is in Mall Management and also the Executive Director of Limitless Designs, an Event Planning business here in New Orleans.

Chris have dedicated the past six years to raising HIV/AIDS Awareness in the New Orleans area by volunteering my time and donating my business services to the NO/AIDS Task Force who named me 2009 Volunteer of the Year.

At NO/AIDS, Chris is the Volunteer Special Events Coordinator, working closely with the Development and Volunteer Services Departments to create profitable and awareness raising events in the New Orleans area.

Chris is currently volunteering his time creating a fundraiser to benefit Project Lazarus. The Mr & Miss Aids/Awareness Pageant is a fun and innovative approach to fundraising and HIV Awareness. Project Lazarus was founded out of compassion and service to all people. Project Lazarus provides services to people with AIDS who can no longer live independently, or whose family can no longer take care of them. The primary purpose of Project Lazarus is to provide continuity of care in a homelike environment. The highest goal of Project Lazarus is to enhance the quality of life of those it serves. http://www.facebook.com/l/58d24;projectlazarus.net

Chris is also currently volunteering his time with the Fashion Fighting HIV/AIDS event sponsored by Brotherhood, Incorporated. Brotherhood's Mission is to develop and implement programs and services that increase access to health care and health care information, such as housing, health promotion, and disease prevention programs, among at risk and underserved populations. http://www.facebook.com/l/58d24;brotherhoodinc.org

And lastly, the newest organization Chris is volunteering with is Dab the AIDS Bear Project and one of our newest Ambassadors of Hope helping to spread Dab the AIDS Bear's 29 year message of hope for people living with HIV and AIDS while taking pictures with Dab the AIDS Bear at events.

When Chris is not working to raise awareness of HIV, he is usually raising awareness for Breast Cancer or Child Abuse. He loves fund raising and raising awareness for great causes. Being from a small town of Morgan City, there are no organizations to teach you about HIV/AIDS awareness. Chris was there when his best friend needed a shoulder because one of his previous partners told him they were HIV positive. He remembers how scared his friend was because HIV was not something we knew a lot about then.

It made him wonder just how many people do not know enough about HIV/AIDS to get tested, wear protection, and just be safe. Chris wants to make a difference in peoples lives. He feels even if he got one person to use protection, he has succeeded. Chris saw first hand what his friend went through not knowing if he contracted it, waiting for the test results every few months. He does not want others to have to go through the same thing if it can be prevented.

For these and many more reasons, we are honored to announce Chris Leonard as our Dab the AIDS Bear's Angel for June 2010.

Until we meet again; here's wishing you health, hope, happiness and just enough.

big bear hug,

Daddy Dab
