A Gift of Love
Welcome to another day in my life. Today is Saturday and I hope you are having a safe and great weekend. The weather here in South Florida is sunny and beautiful today so I hope you are enjoying likewise where you live.
As I spoke about yesterday in my blog entry, this weekend is the Positive Living Conference in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Butch and his staff always do a great job making everyone feel welcomed and appreciated. Butch really makes the conference about and for the people. He also makes sure to have varied and interesting speakers and break out sessions. So if you have never been to the conference, I would definitely recommend you put it on your schedule for next year.
I have received so many loving and caring messages, texts and emails from people attending the conference. I can not tell you how much it has touched me. See I normally am at the conference. Usually I am even one of the speakers. I learned today that the attendees and speakers all signed a conference t-shirt which is being sent to me after Butch McKay let them know I have been going through health problems. You can see the t-shirt in the picture today. So I would like to thank everyone for all their love, concern and well wishes.
Since I could not be at the conference this year, Heather is manning our project tables with our Dab the AIDS Bear, HIV/AIDS awareness pins and information. I can not begin to thank her enough for filling in for me this year. I greatly miss being there and seeing everyone. But hopefully, I will be up to attending the conference next year. So I would like to wish everyone there a great weekend and safe travels when they head home.
Today, I woke up late and was having another rough day. It was almost noon before I even got out of bed. Then I took the kids for their walk before coming back to rest some more. I did make it down to the flea market which was by our new City Hall which is only a couple of blocks from the house. My legs started bothering me and I tired quickly so I did not stay long. I did meet two people who do pet portraits similar to Andy Warhol prints which I liked so I got their business card and learned they are on Facebook so I plan on looking them up.
We are having our GLBT pride here in the Fort Lauderdale area this weekend. Hopefully, I will feel like going for a little while tomorrow. Will have to see how I am doing in the morning. Trying to get plenty of rest this weekend because I have a very full week next week with appointments and procedures. I have never been to the Pride event here so it might be fun.
Will probably just stay in tonight and spend it with my four legged children. Maybe catch some television and lay on the couch with them. I know it might sound boring to many but after traveling the world for the past five years with my work, I am actually enjoying some down and home time.
I hope you are having a great and safe weekend. Remember to do something special for yourself. Life is not a dress rehearsal! And as always, remember to tell those you care about you love them. You never know when you might not get another chance.
Until we meet again; here's wishing you health, hope and happiness.
big bear hug,
