Hey gang! It's been a busy few days. Just got finished with a great weekend. Getting back to Jacksonville and had some great weather on Sunday. The weather has been great since there to where it is comfortable to go outside and get some sun. I'm trying to get some color on this pale skin of mine.
Gary and I also sat down and had a long discussion this past weekend. As with any relationship, both people need to sit down and hash things out to make sure they are having open dialogue with each other. Some times with the day to day survival or work and all the other things we try to do; it is very easy to loose that closeness and communication without attention to it.
On Monday, Heather and I went and met with a local organization about falling under their 501(c)3 status. It's an organization that I've known about for a long time and the meeting with their Director, Cindy, went great. Waiting to hear back about coming to present the proposal to their Board of Directors. They also sponsor a couple of other organizations in town so we're hoping for a positive outcome which will help us in raising funds for our main events: the Teddy Bear Touchdown and Camp Hope. I spoke with several organizations last year that we're interested but would only participate if their contributions were tax deductible.
Today I had my monthly massage with Vicki which I was needing badly. My back, hip and legs have been tight as a drum between working out and the car trip to Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. Since my wreck, I have trouble staying in one position for any length of time due to spinal damage. I guess heading toward 50 doesn't help either... LOL. It's always a pleasure talking with Vicki. We have a lot of history together and have known each other for over 18 years. She's a wonderful caring person who gives her all. If you're ever needing massage in the Jacksonville area, give her a call at Wengrow Body Therapy. She is located in the Riverside/Avondale area.
The rest of the week is packed with meetings for our Patient Advisory Board, the support group I co-facilitate at Lutheran Social Services, trying to get in my workouts and working on this website. Then more events over the weekend with Divided We Fail. Hopefully, I will also get some time to spend out in the sun also. This is my favorite time of year for tanning since it's not too humid or hot yet.
A good friend of mine is in the hospital after falling at home. Dale is at St. Vincents and they are running him through a battery of tests. For those of you that know Peaches... she is doing better and has started dialysis. She still has some functioning left to her kidneys but I believe it is down below 15percent so keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
Hope that all of you have a great week! Wishing you health, hope and happiness.
Big bear hug,
