Red Hispana Florida Event

Welcome to another day in my life. Today is Saturday and another gorgeous day here in south Florida. I hope your weekend is off to a safe and great start like mine is so far.

I ended up finally rolling out of bed around noon. Chipper had met up in the middle of the night again. So it was about 5am before I got to sleep again. I had a horrible headache when I first got out of bed so needless to say my day did not get off to a great start.

After taking the dogs for a walk, I went to the Red Hispana Florida 50+ Info and Craft Fair at the ArtServe Auditorium. They were featuring the photographic work of Pompano Bill and pencil drawing artwork by Deanna, paintings by Mauricio Ferrer along with other artists and entertainment. Richard Cortez sang and played the guitar and did a fantastic job of entertaining everyone.

Several different organization has tables at the event including Positive Healthcare, Nova University, Broward County Department of Health, Social Security and SAGE. I was surprised when they asked me to speak about Dab the AIDS Bear and my work since I was not scheduled to speak. I did get several pictures which are in the slide show above and featured on the blog pic of the day.

After the event, I headed back home and took the dogs for their afternoon walk. Then I watch Mamma Mia with Pierce Bronson, Meryl Streep and Christine Baranski. I actually ended up enjoying the movie more than I thought I was going to since musicals usually are not my cup of tea. The scenery of Greece in the movie was spectacular and breath taking.

Getting ready for bed but wanted to get this blog entry done first. Will write more tomorrow. Until we meet again; here's wishing you health, hope and happiness.

big bear hug,
