Why We Walk
Welcome to another day in my life. Today is Sunday and it is also the Florida AIDS Walk today in Fort Laudredale. I hope you are having a safe and great weekend so far.
Dab the AIDS Bear and I had to be up very early this morning at 6am so we could get everything taken care of before heading downtown for the walk. So I am still in the process of waking up.
So you might wonder why Dab the AIDS Bear and I do these walks. That is why I decided to do the blog for today on the issue.
Dab the AIDS Bear and I will participate in a 10-kilometer fundraising walkathon through Fort Lauderdale to address the escalating spread of HIV/AIDS in South Florida, and provide care for those already affected by the disease. As you know from reading my blogs, we also have over 3,600 Floridians on our ADAP Waiting List.
To make a difference in this battle, I need caring people like you to sponsor my participation in the walk. To support me, please make a donation to my campaign right here on the Florida AIDS Walk website. Your gift to this worthy cause is fully tax-deductible. (If you wish to make a donation by check, please send me an email so I can add you to my list of offline contributors. Make checks payable to Florida AIDS Walk. Also, be sure to include my name as the person you are sponsoring and the name of my team to ensure proper credit.)
Dab the AIDS Bear and I will be walking with the Pride Center team. We will also be taking pictures throughout the walk and the after party at the Manor. So stay tuned for a slide show featuring the pics in an upcoming blog in the next couple of days.
We also look forward to seeing hundreds of our friends today since many of them will be at the walk. So come up, say hello and get your picture taken with Dab the AIDS Bear in support of people living with HIV and AIDS
Then when we get home from the after party, it will definitely be time for a nap. I know I will be exhausted. So I did my usual Sunday workout at Friend's Fitness yesterday. Hopefully, the problems I have been having with my back for the past couple of weeks will not prevent me from doing the entire walk.
Hope you have a great day!
Until we meet again; here's wishing you health, hope, happiness and just enough.
big bear hug,
