The Conference Begins
Thanks for stopping by and checking out another blog entry. TGIF! I know I am glad the weekend is almost here and am excited about us having the first Women's HIV Conference here in Jacksonville, Florida.
I spent my morning as usual with a protein shake and a workout. Today was a great workout with bicep and back day. I am still doing three sets of each exercise with 12 - 15 reps per exercise. I know I feel a lot better and more confident when I know I am working out and keeping my body in the best shape it can be at my age.
I spent the rest of the day getting ready for the meet and greet we are having at the Hyatt Hotel for the conference. I came home and got ready for the party around 5pm and got back around 6:15pm. There were already over a hundred people in attendance which was great to see. Everything looked beautiful. I got to spend some quality time with Marvelyn Brown, who is our guest speaker, for the conference.
Marvelyn has a very powerful story she shares about being a black, young, heterosexual who caught HIV from her boyfriend at 19. Her story goes on to share what life with HIV has been like for her since her diagnosis. Marvelyn is the author of the book: Young, Beautiful and HIV Positive.
The party was in full swing by 7pm with a great assortment of food and drink abound and a great dj inspiring the crowd to get up and celebrate.
I ended up leaving around 9pm because I know I have to be up at 5:30am to get ready for the conference in the morning. Tomorrow is also my 47th birthday.
I hope you are have a safe and great weekend.
Remember to make a special memory or two. Wishing you health, hope and happiness.
Big bear hug,
