Welcome to another blog entry about my life. Today is my 47th birthday.
Now some people get upset about getting older every year... well especially those over 39. But since I was told at 19 that I would not live to see 20, I am so grateful for ever making it to 47. Yes, the hair is getting thinner and grayer; the vision weaker and the wrinkles deeper. But I am still alive and happy so I have already received the best birthday present I could be given: another day of life!
I was up and going very early this morning so I could be at the conference on time. We had a fantastic day and a great turnout. I was so happy to see all the hard work and everything come to fruition. We will have to see what the exit surveys stated but I think everyone had a fantastic time. The women sang me Happy Birthday and gave me a gift which was very touching for me.
Besides having our wonderful speaker, Marvelyn Brown, there were also several other entertainment features: a runway show, guest performers and Condom Miranda. All too soon the day was over and it was time to head home.
Gary and I celebrated my birthday after getting home. Then we went out to eat at Golden Corral where I could get my favorite pot roast and other goodies. (I am a cheap date. Just a jeans and tshirt, meat and potatoes kind of man.)
I would like to thank everyone for their birthday emails and wishes. Every one of them touched my heart. I am so grateful for all your well wishes. It has been a great birthday.
I hope you made some special memories and had as great of a Saturday as I did.
