Dab the AIDS Bear Appearance
Welcome to another day in my life. Today is Thursday and I hope you are having a safe and great week so far. I am writing this blog early today because I have a busy afternoon and evening.
Later today, I will be meeting with the local Department of Health folks about getting help with the co-pays for my HIV medications. The system here in Broward county works very differently than in north Florida. So I have to meet with one office to get help with HIV meds and then meet with another office in a couple of more weeks to get help with my many non-HIV medications.
So I am sure I will be worn out by the time I am done today. I am going to try and make the meeting at Fusion this evening but it will all depend on how my energy is doing and how I am feeling. But since it has been weeks since I have made it to see my new friends there I know I would like to make it.
I would like to talk about the next appearance for Dab the AIDS Bear. As most of you know I am currently recovering from surgery so I am not on line much except to monitor events related to HIV/AIDS care and funding in DC.
Dab the AIDS Bear will be at the National women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day events around the country through the help of our wonderful Ambassadors of Hope.
Unfortunately due to health reasons, I personally will not be able to attend. But I hope you will make it to the events in your area.
Attached is one of the announcements about Dab the AIDS Bear's appearance around the country.
Hope all of you are having a great month so far. Thanks to all of your for your loving messages, cards and flowers. I am so fortunate to know so many loving and caring people.
Remember to take time to smell the roses because life is not a dress rehearsal. I know many are struggling in this economy just to get through the day. This is only a reminder to make time to make yourself happy for at least a few minutes each day and do something that makes your day.
Until we meet again; here's wishing you health, hope and happiness.
