Welcome to another day in my life. Today is Sunday and currently I am watching the Oscars as I type this entry. So the picture I used for the blog today is from when I walked the red carpet last year.
I hope you have had a safe and great weekend. Hopefully, the weather where you are was as nice as the weather we had in south Florida this weekend.
Not to sound like a broken record, I am still recovering from my surgery a week and a half ago. In fact, I go to see my doctor tomorrow to see how the surgery spots are healing. So I am still not getting out very much except to take the dogs for their walks.
The Oscars are a night of giving awards to people in the movies for their excellent and accomplishments. Well I have a couple of announcements I would like to make myself. We have recently added a few new Ambassadors Of Hope at the project.
First there is Earl Pike. Earl is the CEO of the AIDS Taskforce of Greater Cleveland. He is going to have Dab the AIDS Bear at their National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day event. (Christine Harris, another ambassador, is doing the same in Texas.)
Greg Hetzler has also joined our crew. Greg, who is also an old friend, is in Missouri and will be taking pics with his Dab the AIDS Bear at the AIDS Walk KC in April among many other events.
I also may be announcing a new celebrity to our list. But I am still waiting to here back from the person before I make an announcement. The person is someone who most of you would know if I mentioned the name so you will have to wait until I hear back from them.
This upcoming week will be a tiring and busy one for me. As I said I have a doctor appointment tomorrow. Then on Tuesday, I have to go deal with the Social Security office to get some paperwork I need for a Department of Health meeting the following week. I am also going to try and make it to Fusion sometime during the week. Because of the move and my surgery, I have not been by to see Mario in the gang since shortly after Christmas.
The dogs did get their bi-weekly bath today which was a good thing. Sugar and Harley will probably be needing a grooming in the next three or four weeks. Luckily, I think I have found a good groomer only a couple of blocks from the new place which makes it very convenient.
I am still dealing with pain in the surgery location. I have also been having some continued problems using my left leg from the stroke in December. But I greatly appreciate all the wonderful encouraging messages, emails, cards and flowers I have received from many of you.
I talked with my Dad the other day which was great. I received an early birthday card from him on Saturday. My birthday is not until the 28th. Being positive for over twenty nine years and with the health problems I have had in the past year I am just glad to be making another one. So I do not worry about the fact I am getting older. I have earned every wrinkle and gray hair. And I know how many many friends never got the chance to live past their twenties or thirties so I thank God for every day I am given.
I will keep the entry short today since several of my past ones have been longer than normal. Plus I want to see the last of the awards (best actor, actress etc.) before I have to get to bed.
I hope you have a safe and great week coming up. Drop me a line and let me know how you are doing.
Until we meet again; here's wishing you health, hope and happiness.
big bear hug,
