Dental Dam

Welcome to another day in my life. Today is Monday and I hope your week is off to a safe and great start. Since mine is starting off with a visit to the dentist, my week can only look up from here.

Now I have nothing against dentists. I just personally have bad memories of the dentist from when I was a small child. And it does not help that having your teeth worked on usually includes some measure of pain even with the advances we have today. At least the dentist I have is a nice guy and the entire staff is very friendly. I go to the oral surgeon at Nova Oral Surgery and get my other work done at the Nova Dental Clinic here in Wilton Manors.

Yesterday was very hard for me since it was Mother's Day. I always miss my Mom since she passed in 2003. But her birthday and Mother's Day are especially hard. So yesterday, I took a long walk and thought about all the great times we had together. I am very fortunate to come from a loving family. Luckily, Dad is still alive. In fact, we just talked a few days ago so I could wish him a happy birthday. To be in his late 70s, his health is very good over all. So hopefully, he will be around for many more years.

The weather in south Florida is getting so hot and humid it is almost unbearable to go outside between the hours of 10am and 3pm. So I try to schedule my errands either before or after those times. But I guess that is the price we pay for usually having mild winters especially compared to the rest of the country.

We are not having a Leadership meeting tonight at Fusion. So I am going to enjoy some time off and have fun with my four legged children. The AIDS Walk NYC is coming up this next weekend so Dab the AIDS Bear and I need our beauty rest. Dab the AIDS Bear is walking with three teams this year so we should get a ton of great pictures which of course I will be posting in one of my blogs. This is the 25th anniversary of the AIDS Walk NYC so I am sure there will be a fantastic turnout and hopefully millions of dollars raised to help my brothers and sisters with HIV and AIDS.

I still have to get to the gym today and work out chest and triceps. I am still getting back into the swing after having to take several months off after my stroke. My left side is still a little sluggish and weak so I am doing very light weights compared to what I was doing before the stroke. But at least I am doing something to keep the muscles firms if nothing else. Plus it helps keep the old blood flowing. Since I am doing very light workouts, they only last about an hour. I am slowly starting to see everything start to firm up again which is a relief. While I may be quickly approaching fifty, I would like to do it with style and grace. LOL.

Going to finish this up for now and enjoy the rest of my day. Remember life is not a dress rehearsal so get out there and make a special memory for yourself.

Until we meet again; here's wishing you health, hope, happiness and just enough.

big bear hug,

Daddy Dab
