Welcome to another day in my life. Today is Tuesday and I hope you are having a safe and great week so far. It is another busy day for Dab the AIDS Bear and me.
Yesterday, we were at the last meeting with the Florida Department of Health in Miami concerning the lowering of financial eligibility of Ryan White benefits which will endanger the lives of thousands of Floridians with HIV and AIDS.
It was held at the downtown branch of the library and we had about 200 people living with HIV and AIDS show up. Over the course of the day about fifty individuals shared their stories which were both powerful and moving. My friend, Brandon Macsata, even traveled from Washington DC to speak.
You can see the slide show featuring the pictures from the event below:
Now all we can do is wait and see what decision the governor will make. Hopefully somehow, somewhere, the governor has a conscious and will not needlessly endanger the lives of my brothers and sisters. I hope you enjoyed the pictures from the event.
I would also like to thank everyone from all four workshops who showed up and shared their stories. Hopefully, we made a difference. If not, it will be time to take our action to the streets and the next levels.
Today, Dab the AIDS Bear and I have to be on the run. So I will close for now. I will write about the events in the blog for tomorrow.
I hope you have a safe and great day.
Until we meet again; here's wishing you health, hope, happiness and just enough.
