Health Fair at Pride Center

Welcome to another day in my life. Today is Sunday and I hope you are having a safe and great week so far. It has been a very busy one for Dab the AIDS Bear and me.

Yesterday, I had to be up at 6am so I would have time to take the dogs for their walk, grab a shower, down a protein drink and get ready for a health fair. Dab the AIDS Bear and I worked the health fair at the Pride Center at Equality Park in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. There were probably about thirty vendors and a couple of hundred people attended the health fair. It was great running into several people I know in Fort Lauderdale, catching up and taking their pic with Dab the AIDS Bear.

Of course, I took plenty of pics with the bear at the event:

I was so tired by the time the event was over I went home and took a nap. I was supposed to go over to a yard sale which some friends were having but I was just too tired. I did run into two of the guys who had the yard sale when I was walking the dogs after I got up and apologized for missing the sale.

We were talking and realized we all used to live in California. In fact, one of the guys modeled the same time I did and we lived only a couple of miles from each other. Of course, it has been many years and we are both older and do not look like we did back in the late 80s and early 90s so we had not recognized each other since I had moved here. It is amazing what a small world it can be.

Today, I will be processing a ton of pictures from several different events, building slide shows, catching up on emails and correspondence before another busy week begins. There is so much to do because of what is happening with HIV and AIDS funding in our country to help save lives. I just hope we activists are able to get our elected officials to change their minds or get Washington, DC to intervene and provide emergency funding. Otherwise, American men and women with HIV and AIDS will start dying again like before we had life saving anti-HIV medications.

You can help by calling your elected officials and urging them to increase funding for HIV and AIDS. American men and women are counting on you to help save their lives.

Until we meet again; here's wishing you health, hope, happiness and just enough.

big bear hug,

Daddy Dab
