Welcome to another day in the world of Dab! LOL. But seriously, I hope you are having a great day and thanks for joining me again.

It was another evening of being awake because of my back. As usual, Gary was snoring away so that didn't help with my attempts of falling asleep. So I ended up going to the couch in the living room and working on this website some. I am still a novice when it comes to website design and html coding. While I am very proud of how much I have accomplished so far since when I started I had NO experience setting up website, I know I still have tons to learn and very little available time to concentrate on learning those things. If only every day had 48 hours instead of 24! But I know many people feel that way with all we as Americans try to accomplish every day.

When Gary woke up to start his morning, it was time for me to get some solid sleep. I ended up sleeping until after 12:30pm. When I got up it was a beautiful day outside. The sun was shining away and the temperatures are in the low 90s. We have reached the time of year in Florida where we will soon be in the dreaded 90s almost every day. Now while the higher temperatures do make life tougher; it is the humidity here in Florida that makes it really miserable to me. During our summers, the humidity tends to be over 70 percent almost every day. Now luckily I am not a person with longer hair that has to worry about the humidity making my hair frizzy. LOL. But the humidity does make the temperatures seem even worse as you sweat away in the heat. A very good friend of mine Beth has a similar problem as I. When ever we are going to meetings during the summer months, we both are dressed in as minimal clothing as decency would dictate but we still are sweating to death. Oh well, guess that is just one of the things I have to put up with to live here in Florida. At least I do not have to worry about snowfall.

I continued finishing the pictures from the Memorial Day Festival last weekend in Palatka, Florida with Divided We Fail. I ended up taking almost 150 pictures and most of them turn out pretty darn good if I do say so myself. I am still in a huge learning curve with my new camera so there were a few pictures I was unable to use. With more practice, I hope to improve my composition and techniques since I greatly enjoy photography as a hobby. It gives me another stress reliever besides working out. To be honest since my stroke I do have a few memory problems so taking pictures also helps me remember events by helping to trigger my memory.

Today on Oprah, the episode was a rerun of a dedication that Oprah did for her cocker spaniel, Sophie, who had passed away a couple of months before the episode was filmed. It started off with a moving tribute to Oprah's passed friend. The rest of the episode talked about dog abuse in puppy mills in the midwest and in Pennsylvania. The clips of the poor dogs and puppies just tore at my heart being the animal lover I am. But when they showed the animals being euthanized and then thrown away in garbage bags into a dumpster that really made me just bawl away like a baby. The fact of millions of animals being put down because of the pet population problem just rips my soul apart. I guess that is why I rescued four animals from my local animal control. I used to only buy dogs that were AKC from breeders when I was younger. But after finding out about the pet population problems in my 30s, I now adopt all of my animals from shelters. So if you are a pet owner, please spade or neuter your pet. There are already way too many animals in the world that need a loving home.

When Gary returned home from work, we ended up deciding on Domino's pizza for dinner. Neither of us felt like cooking and Domino's delivers. I ended up ordering their deep dish with pepperoni, mushroom, green peppers and onions. As usual, the delivery woman was here in about thirty minutes. She and I were talking about the rising cost of prices (Dominos had to increase the price of the large Mega Deal by twenty percent) including gas. Most people do not know that the drivers do not receive the delivery charge included with your bill. The delivery charge is retained by the corporation and the delivery people make minimum wage at best and have they have to cover the costs of their fuel. She said they are having a very hard time keeping drivers because they aren't making any money and all the customers want to gripe about the increase in prices. Welcome to 2008 America!

Tonight we ended up watching So You Think You Can Dance on television. The show is still traveling from city to city during the audition phase of the season. They showed several excellent dancers and so many train wrecks that it was almost painful to watch. There were even a few I had to feel sorry for because they obviously are not in the right frame of mind. Now a few deserved the ridiculing they received because of their attitudes; but in my opinion a couple of them were very probably emotionally disturbed and I hate to be unnecessarily mean to people especially if they are disturbed.

I am heading off to bed now. I need to be up in the morning so I can pull it all together for the monthly HIV community luncheon at Christ Church of Peace.

I hope your week is going great so far. We're almost to Friday! Wishing you health, hope and happiness.

big bear hug,
