Memorial Day BBQ
Welcome to another day in my life. Today is Saturday and we are in the midst of Memorial Day weekend. I know many of our friends are traveling this holiday weekend so I hope you are having a safe and great time so far.
Our weekend is off to a great start. Last evening, Dab the AIDS Bear and I attended the Memorial Day BBQ at Fusion. We had quite a crowd show up as always. Fusion provided the hot dogs, hamburgers, buns, chips and soda. Everyone else was asked to bring a side dish which we ended up taking a big pan of baked beans. By the time I left around 8pm, we had over twenty show up for the event. Everyone had a great time eating, drinking and socializing. The following is a slide show featuring a few of the people who attended the event.
This is a very busy weekend for Dab the AIDS Bear. Because the bear was invited to multiple events, I had to ask the help of some of our Ambassadors of Hope to attend the events with their Dab the AIDS Bear and take pictures for me. So Dab the AIDS Bear is at IML in Chicago, Memorial Day weekend in Pensacola, Boots N Bears event at Hombre in Oakland Park and Pride in Kansas City. So stay tuned for the pics and slide shows from those events.
I will give you a day or two off from all the doom and gloom involved in the world of people living with HIV and AIDS this weekend. The blogs next week will be starting back on those issues. I do encourage you since it is Memorial Day weekend to visit our Virtual AIDS Memorial on this website and remember some of our brothers and sisters who have lost their battle. It is because of their hard work and sacrifices that we have the life saving medications and services we have today.
Until we meet again; here's wishing you health, hope, happiness and just enough.
big bear hug,
