Welcome to another day in my life. Today is Thursday and I hope you are having a safe and great week so far. It has been another busy week for Dab the AIDS Bear and me.
Yesterday, we were in Tampa for the latest meeting with the Florida Department of Health on Governor Scott wanting to reduce Ryan White eligibility and endangering the lives of Floridians living with HIV and AIDS. While I was glad to see over 200 people living with HIV and AIDS show up for the meeting, I was honestly expecting a bigger crowd. But considering the meeting room was only large enough for about 100, we had to do the meeting in three shifts which was a hassle for everyone at best.
From reading my blog, you know we were also at the meeting on Tuesday in Miami. Below is a slide show featuring pictures from the meeting in Miami:
I hope you enjoyed the slide show and pictures. It is a matter of life and death to Floridians with HIV and AIDS that we (and our providers, friends and family) contact our state and national elected officials concerning the lowering of Ryan White eligibility.
If you do not know who your elected officials are (or do not know how to contact them) go to: http://www.votesmart.org. All you have to do is input your address and you will be given all their names and contact information. Please call, email and write your elected officials at both the state and national level today!
Floridians living with HIV and AIDS are counting on your help!
Until we meet again; here's wishing you health, hope, happiness and just enough.
