The link below is for WWW.DIVIDEDWEFAIL.ORG. It talks about the upcoming elections and the future of public health care. It is sponsored by AARP and several other national corporations and Hollywood celebrities.
Being my friend, I know that all of you know where I stand on issues of public health. This will probably be the most important election as far as public health concerns since the 1950s. Ryan White is up for renewal in 2009.
My fellow American men women and children with HIV can not afford to have Ryan White or other HIV funding continue to lose funding. There are already over 600 Americans on ADAP waiting lists and over 83,000 Americans that do not have access to all HIV medications.
The next message is from their website:
Visit www.dividedwefail.org to join with millions of other Americans to support candidates who will give us action, answers and accountability on health and lifetime financial security. We need to elect leaders who will end the gridlock in Washington and get things done.
Join us in our cause by pledging to:
* Vote for candidates who will ensure that all Americans have access to affordable, quality health care.
* Vote for candidates who will ensure that all Americans have peace of mind about their long-term financial security with a real plan of action, and a real commitment to the American people.
* Vote for candidates who are specific about what they'll do and how, and who stop speaking in generalities.
Use your vote to deliver the message that the time to address these problems is now.
We believe that candidates owe us action, answers and accountability, and they must commit to delivering long-term, lasting solutions if elected.
Do you agree? Become a Divided We Fail voter today!
Please take the time to view this website. It could make the
difference between life and death for millions of Americans. Most of you have experienced HIV and AIDS with at least one person by being friends with me. Many of you like me have lost many friends to HIV and AIDS. Others have lost people to cancer and diabetes. This is something that affected all of us. I've joined to add my voice. I'd rather stand for something than to die standing for nothing!
Wishing you health, hope and happiness.
