I had to wake up early so I can pull it together before leaving for the World AIDS Week Committee. Pull it together? you ask. Well when you have had a stroke and deal with side effects from HIV and the medications, it can take a toll on you so it takes me a while to get up and functional now.
My friend, Beth, gave me a ride to the meeting. It was our last meeting before the big World AIDS Week events that the group has worked on so hard all year. It should turn out to be a fantastic week. I'm just glad I got a chance to help out. They are a wonderful group of dedicated and caring people.
Beth and I had a very long talk today. I was riding in her car as she was speaking with her daughter. Beth is such a loving caring person. It made me realize why Beth is so great at her job. She was born to be a mother and she's an incredible woman.
I spent the rest of the day working on the website and correspondence. Made a few additions... we were just granted permission to use the brand new commercial from Divided We Fail.org which was formed by AARP in response to the public health care crisis in America. With this next year being an election year, it is probably the most important election as far as public health care since the 1950s. God help my community if HIV and AIDS funding continue to be cut.
Tonight, I watched one of the few television programs that I like besides sports and HGTV... Dancing With the Stars. Tonight was the elimination round and Cameron was voted off. The show is now to the Semi-Finals round.
I hope that all of you had a great day! Remember to tell those special people in your life that you love them... one day they won't be here to be able to tell them.
Wishing all of you health, hope and happiness.
Big bear hug,
