Fort Walton Beach
Welcome to another day in my life. Today is Tuesday and I hope you are having a safe and great week so far. Dab the AIDS Bear and I are off and running again today.
After getting up this morning and spending some time with my Dad, I had several calls to return. Erica and I spoke about the upcoming Walk for Life where I will be speaking on Saturday. We also covered my general bio info since she is working on having a radio interview set up for me with a local station.
Then I had to start getting ready to go to Fort Walton Beach where they were having their panhandle Consortia Meeting. Luckily, I was able to catch a ride with a friend since I had no idea where the building was where they were having the meeting. So the three of us did the forty five minute trip together which made time fly by. We caught up on all the mutual people we knew from the 70s and 80s most of whom are no longer with us.
When we finally arrived at the church in Fort Walton, I was surprised how many people were at the meeting. By the time the meeting was called to order, they were roughly thirty five providers and consumers gathered which is a great turnout for this part of the state.
They had an excellent meeting covering HIV/AIDS funding, current ADAP crisis and other issues. I was asked to speak for about thirty minutes of the meeting and everyone wanted to see Dab the AIDS Bear and get their picture taken so stay tuned for upcoming pictures and a slide show some time next week after I get back to south Florida.
Then we had the drive back to Pensacola to chat some more. There is an event on Friday evening we have been asked to attend. They have requested for Dab the AIDS Bear to be at the event to help get people out. So we will show up and take pictures again.
Dad and I just finished having dinner and I am worn out. But I wanted to get the blog done for today before I headed to bed. Tomorrow is going to be another long day since I have to take Dad to his appointment at noon, a radio interview in the afternoon and trying to see Diane tomorrow evening.
Hope you are having a great week. Until we meet again; here's wishing you health, hope, happiness and just enough.
big bear hug,
