Hey folks! Today was the opening of the National AIDS Quilt Panels at City Hall here in Jacksonville, Florida. I took several pictures that I will be adding to today's blog. I rode there with some friends from NFAN.
I must admit that every time I see the quilt, it brings tears to my eyes. Yesterday, I saw the quilt of my lover that died not to mention the panels of several close friends. I was having a lot of problems with my neuropathy so I took pictures during the ceremony instead of opening the different panels.
Afterwards Donna, Beth and I had lunch at a new restaurant. I made the mistake of getting the French Dip instead of the daily special which was a open faced Roast Beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy. But we had a great time sitting around and shooting the shit.
Found out that a friend of mine has been given several electronic gifts by her ex husband and NONE of them work. Talk about bad karma... LOL.
After I got home, I worked on the photographs I had taken at the opening of the quilt and mailed them out. I was so tired that I fell asleep by 8:30pm. Tomorrow is another long day of events.
