Fort Lauderdale ADAP Rally

Welcome to another day in my life. Today is Tuesday and I hope you are having a safe and great week so far. It is going to be a very busy day for Dab the AIDS Bear and me.

I started off the day waking up before 10am and going to the gym after taking the dogs for their morning walk. I needed a bicep and back workout to help relieve some stress from the busy week. Nothing like a great workout to do that.

Then it was time to take a shower before going to get my haircut at Mark's Haircuts for Men in Wilton Manors. Mark used to be my neighbor before he and his ex broke up a few months ago. But I still get to see him every month when I go to get my haircut. Mark and his current boyfriend recently did the SMART AIDS Ride from Fort Lauderdale to Key West. They took their Dab the AIDS Bear and on the trip with them and took pictures for me. So stay tuned for the upcoming slide show and pictures from the event.

Then I had to hurry home to get ready for the ADAP Rally at the Federal Building in downtown Fort Lauderdale at 5pm. The event was sponsored by AIDS Healthcare Foundation and I was one of the featured speakers with Dab the AIDS Bear. There was a good turnout and hopefully we are furthering the fight in getting more funding for ADAP. Florida now has over 2,400 men and women on their ADAP waiting list. I will be going to Washington DC again to lobby our elected officials about passing the Emergency ADAP Funding Bill.

Then tonight, the Jacksonville Teddy Bear Touchdowns was at Lutheran Social Services at Northeast Florida. Heather and the gang did a great job providing a wonderful Christmas party for all the local children with HIV and AIDS. There will be pictures and a slide show coming soon.

So I know you can understand why I am tired after a long and exhausting day. I have to head to bed now because I am speaking at the World AIDS Day event at 8am here in Fort Lauderdale. I hope you will join us at the Broward Performing Arts Center for the event tomorrow morning.

Hope you are having a safe and great week. Until we meet again; here's wishing you health, hope, happiness and just enough.

big bear hug,

Daddy Dab
