Thank God it's the weekend! Although I'm working just as hard today with the Teddy Bear Touchdown date being moved up a month. I was on the phone most of the day calling and begging for items for the children's gift bags. I just want to make it as special for the kids as we can.
It's one thing to be dealing with HIV and AIDS since I was a young adult. I couldn't imagine being born with HIV or becoming infected during adolescence. Being a kid is hard enough... especially when most of my kids come from financially challenged households. Many are from single parent homes. What money comes into their households is spent on medical care and the necessities... that doesn't leave much for presents to make the kids smile during the holidays. And isn't children what the holidays are all about really. Seeing the smiles on their faces as they open a gift that someone cared enough to give them. I've personally seen the tears streaming down their faces that strangers would care enough to do that for them. There's no better feeling in the world.
Of course being Saturday, it was college football day. I watched the Michigan/Michigan State and the LSU/Alabama games. Both were excellent games keeping you on your seat all the way through the 4th quarter.
The weather was great today. Nice as cool but not cold. I also got the house straightened up some and the clothes washed. Will do the grocery shopping tomorrow.
Hope that all of you are having a great weekend.
Big bear hug,
