Relationship Status: Single

Welcome to another day in my life. Today is Monday and it is also Veteran's Day. So the Dab Bears and I would like to thank all the veterans out there for the sacrifice and courage they have shown keeping our great country free. I hope you are having a beary safe and great week so far. It has been a long and exhausting week for me.

This past weekend, my partner of two years and I broke up. And when I say we broke up what I mean is when I returned from a trip he had packed all his possessions and moved out without any discussion or discourse. So needless to say I was a little more than shocked when I arrived home, opened the door and found a half empty house.

The what and why really don't matter. Like any two people we both made mistakes. Unfortunately, sometimes the mistakes you make can kill what could have been a great relationship. I can only hope we both learn from the mistakes we made so we do not repeat them in the future. I wish him the best.

He has tried to contact me in the past two days but I am still too hurt to meet with him. Unfortunately this has only angered him so I am not even sure if we will even be able to salvage a friendship which is sad. I mean if you have spent over two years of your life with someone, you would hope you could at least have a friend afterward. But I digress.

So here I am 51 years old, 32 years of it living with HIV and single again. If there is an upside at least I can now choose what my future will be. Will it be here in Fort Lauderdale or somewhere else? I have only begun to explore the options so I will fill you in as decisions are made and details are available.

Time to wipe the tears, pack away the good memories and carry forward with my life. Like the saying goes "Better to have love and lost than to never have loved at all."

I would like to thank everyone for all the love, well wishes and support I have been receiving on social media. While it doesn't change the reality of the situation, it is comforting and I am eternally grateful.

I am going to keep the blog short for today. I have so much to do around the house to make it liveable. Plus I still have a ton of emails, messages and pics which piled up while I was out of the country.

But stay tuned for more slide shows coming soon and I will also be blogging about the POZ cruise, the bears and I were recently doing on Carnival.

Hope you have a beary safe and great week.

Until we meet again; here's wishing you health, hope, happiness and just enough.

big bear hug,

Daddy Dab
