Your Benefits Decided in Secret Meetings?

Welcome to another day in my life. Today is Thursday and I hope you are having a safe and great week so far. It is another busy day for Dab the AIDS Bear and me.

From watching the news, you should know our elected officials in Washington, DC are trying to make huge changes to social security, medicare, medicaid and other entitlement/public health funds.

Are you comfortable with 12 people in Washington deciding the future of your Medicare and Social Security benefits in secret, closed door meetings?

I know I am not. But the congressional supercommittee has held only two public meetings, while convening in secret to discuss budget cuts, including potentially big cuts to the benefits you've earned.

The supercommittee is making decisions about the future of Medicare and Social Security right now. They might think that because these meetings are secret, seniors aren't paying attention. I am counting on you to help me show them they are wrong.

Speak out today and make sure they hear your voice from behind their closed doors. Tell the supercommittee: Do not cut Medicare and Social Security benefits.

The cuts they are considering could be devastating to seniors and middle class families increasing premiums and co-payments for today's Medicare recipients, raising the retirement age for future retirees, and reducing benefit checks millions rely on to pay their monthly bills.

You have worked hard your entire life for your benefits. The supercommittee should not be able to hide from you and the rest of the American public as they make decisions on cuts to Medicare and Social Security.

That is why I need you to speak up today and make your voice heard. There is too much at stake to let just a few members of Congress decide the future of your benefits, and we don't have much time before they make their final decisions.

The future of your benefits should not be decided in secret. Show the supercommittee you are paying attention, and counting on them to keep Medicare and Social Security benefits safe from cuts.

Thanks for all you do.

Hope you have a great Thursday!

Until we meet again; here's wishing you health, hope, happiness and just enough.

big bear hug,

Daddy Dab
