Happy Halloween

Welcome to another day in my life. Today is Monday and I hope you are having a safe and great start to your weekend. Unfortunately, Dab the AIDS Bear and I are trapped inside because our neighborhood is flooded.

Last night after a long and not so great evening out for the local Halloween event, the skies literally opened and five inches of rain came pouring down. Guess the one advantage of the night ending horribly is it made me get home before the downpour.

Woke up about 3am and the property and those near the house were flooded. There is probably four to six inches of water in the guest house. The pool is totally flooded and full of debris. I have not been able to check out my car yet to see if any water got inside and did any damage. Hopefully, there is no water in the Jetta since I do not have flood insurance because of this house being a rental.

The lucky part is the main house did not flood. There is a little water from a few leaks in the roof which is being controlled by buckets and towels. So trying to look on the bright side since things can always get worse.

Hopefully we will not get any more rain until some of the flood waters have receded. Need to check the weather coverage and doppler to see what the experts are saying about more rain and the damage around the area and the rest of Florida. The dogs need to go outside for the bathroom but there is not a dry spot for them to walk. I might end up having to take them somewhere in the Jeep since it should be able to make it through the water without any problems unlike the Jetta.

So there you have the bear and my current situation in a nutshell. I know many other people in Florida are in the same situation. Many of our friends up north have gotten snow in the past day or two. So we are hoping everyone is safe!

Going to keep the blog short today. But know the bear and I are thinking about all of our friends.

Until we meet again; here's wishing you health, hope, happiness and just enough.

big bear hug,

Daddy Dab
